I’m back and now i’m teaching kids how to use makecode!

I’m wondering if you guys have any ideas about coding for some 5th-8th graders that i’m doing to start teaching makecode! any suggestions that are easy lessons that would last for around 2-3 hours maybe?

Welcome back! For 5th-8th graders, consider starting with a simple project like creating a basic game or interactive story. A project like building a simple platformer or a quiz game can be engaging and educational, and it should fit well within a 2-3 hour lesson. Good luck!

Coding a FPS, Clicker game, Basic roguelike, simple zelda-like game
Prehaps you could also try projects focusing on functions, or variables, for loops, if statements etc
btw this sounds awesome

See if any of the things I mentioned here are helpful.

If you’re looking for something else, then just let us know what you need and we can try to point you to other resources.

So glad to hear that you’re teaching, @Dreadmask197 ! We always need good CS instructors to inspire more kids.
