Is Image to MakeCode Arcade Typically Frowned Upon?

I’m making a game but I am abysmal at spriting things, so I am CONSIDERING using Image to MakeCode Arcade. I’m wondering if Image to MakeCode Arcade is frowned upon because of talented artists spending ages making detailed sprites for their games only for someone to slap a jpeg into a random website and make something that could look better.

It doesn’t look better at all :joy: dw
Makecode tends towards smaller sprites/low resolution stuff so pixelating images doesn’t usually go well. Even like 500x500 images doesn’t look great
Using ai is frowned upon tho

Yes and no. Even though image to makecode converters are advancing, there still not the best. It’s not necessarily frowned upon, Its just that the conversions are bad and its not going to look the best. What I’ve done in the past is thrown the image into the converter then put it in my project. After that I touch it up, fixing the colors and some details. But be warned; the good artists will always make better image’s than the converter.
Hope that helps

Art looks like art. Image to Makecode looks like Image to Makecode. It’s kind of like early AI images: you can usually tell. As long as it’s easy to tell or you declare it somewhere in the game (probably crediting the Image converter program is a good thing to do!), then I don’t think there’s a problem! :slightly_smiling_face:

I think its fine as long as you don’t try and pass it off as your own art.
