Hey everyone! I’m really excited to present my newest game that was entered into the Female Gamechangers Game Jam! It’s called Mission 79. It is a rogue-like game where you need to contain a robot outbreak before humanity is destroyed. As you descend into their base, you will find that the further you go the harder it gets. Before I post the link I wanted to answer a few questions you may have about the game.
Why make a Rogue-Like game?
I am a big fan of hard games and I like challenges. When a game is too easy I find myself getting bored of it really quickly. However, in a hard game I need to focus and concentrate, which I really like about hard games.
Was this game inspired by another game?
This game was inspired by two games. The first was Metroid and the second was Dead Cells. As a big fan of Metroid the main character was based off of Samus. The rogue-like aspect of the game was inspired by Dead Cells (which is also a rogue-like). I highly recommend giving both games a try!
Why first person?
I haven’t seen that many first person games on the forum. I mostly see top-down and platformer games, so I wanted to try something a little different and make this game from the first person perspective. I also wanted to make the player feel like they were in the game, destroying robots, reloading and shooting their blaster, etc.
I had a lot of fun making this game even though I didn’t have that much time to make it.
(Making the music was the best part)
Let me know what you guys think about this game.
Thank you for playing!
