Procedurally-animated AI bugs

Here’s the link:

Like my other game, Proceduraly-animated AI worm, this game has procedurally-animated creatures with behavior trees. Each creature has a few data “genes” that start out random.

Controls:

mouse left: grab stuff
mouse right: open menu

The bugs need sleep and food. If they start to get hungry, they go out and search. If they’ve found food and had enough to eat, they go to their home.

nothing too special right now, but I’m going to add offspring, other creatures to compete with, and more data for the bugs in the near future. I would love to hear what you think! please share if you have an idea for more controls, what creature I should add, more behaviors, etc.

is it possible to proceduraly animate the legs too? :upside_down_face:

It is! What I would do to make the legs move as well is add IK chains to make up the legs; separate chains for each segment of the softbody.

This does risk speed of the game, though. I think it looks fine without the legs being too fancy.

I am, however, making a new game right now that does feature multiple chains per creature! It’s a pet lizard simulation. Anybody please like this reply if that’s something the community would like to see!
