Rain World Demo

Hey guys!
It’s been a while and I’ve slacked a lot on coding lately mostly due to school work and Fortnite but I’m back now! This game isn’t really done and it doesn’t use procedural animations (Because I don’t know how to do them) and it really only has 1 mechanic in play. If you overlap a pole and let go of all keys, the Slugcat will snap on. Use up and down to control the Slugcat. To dismount, simply hold Z on your keyboard (Button A) and use left/right arrows and Up arrow to control the Slugcat away from the pole. This version is still really buggy and I don’t intend on finishing it because of another project so I’m posting the game here. If anyone wants to elaborate on it or use the art/sprites, tiles, it’s free to use and you don’t need to ask permission for it! Here’s the game: Rain World Unfinished Demo

Thanks a lot!

For anyone planning to use this.
Just some minor constructive criticism from someone who has seen another person play the game once.
With the animations you will get awkward situations when you glitch out of the map.

I know man. I’ve been really lazy. But I’m back now so don’t worry about it!

Like I said above, it’s buggy and needs polishing.

Looks great! i would love to help out!

This is Cool! I actually made a Procedural-Animation extension, (https://github.com/bladebaillio/soft-body-extension), we could use to make the creatures in the game.

I  the art! Are you going to continue this?

@Seal You could continue it! It’s free for people to use and claim as their own work, so feel free to elaborate on it. As for your question, no, me and my graphics designer are not going to continue it. We needed procedural animation but no one was willing to help so, yeah.

Pretty sure I’m one in a very small list of people with experience in procedural animation in Makecode. It’s not surprising that people couldn’t or wouldn’t do it for you. It’s not easy, and it’s mostly math, and even I would refuse to do it in blocks.

Its ok if yall do it in Javascript.

Yeah, i’m sure they will think of something soon @CrunchyToast is creative

The dash can push you through walls. Work on the dash slightly,
The combat is okay but does need a little work. i can’t see anything when i slash.
You could make it like a small puzzle with you having to enter.
(Good start but my question is what features you plan on adding?)

This is just a small demo and I’m currently making a better version on GDevelop 5.
