Nothing! I’m very busy with work this month but have been brewing plenty of ideas for when I come back…
I was admittedly too picky to choose a July president so I’ll just be on another break for this month!

its 400, and at the pace randomuser and sarge are gaining likes, randomuser will overtake sarge in a little more than 2 months.

Mid-August Update :tangerine:

Hi everybody!!
I’m officially BACK from my break, thank you all so much for your patience! :heart:

What’s your plan for the future?
My summer job has ended! It was absolutely amazing, I’ve learned a TON about chemistry, physics, and actually a bunch about computer science and statistics too. :woman_scientist:

I had planned on putting my all into my summer job for a few months, then chilling out with no responsibilities after, but…

I liked the job so much, I’ve returned as a volunteer!! :scream: Plus, I underestimated how much time I’ll have to dedicate to college applications :sweat_smile:

I’ll still be 100% active as the Makecode president!! (This role is one of my TOP priorities, don’t worry!) I’ll just have to cut back on some of my other time commitments. Unfortunately, this means I will NOT be competing in Coder King 5 and will likely avoid all game competitions due to the time they take. I might also reply to less new topics or take longer to respond to pings. Thank you for understanding! :people_hugging:

Below is my plan for this month. When I post my August update, I’ll include a poll for my plans in September, my LAST month as president!! We’ll also have to decide who will run the next makecode elections, as although I’d love to host them, that would seem a little biased :laughing: Perhaps @RedSprite ?

What’s happening this month?
At the end of August I’ll post my August update with the TEXT TO SPEECH EXTENSION!!!
The extension is currently in Alpha, so I’m hoping to release it in a usable Beta form with at least these features:

  • Simply type a sentence phonetically and the extension will automatically create a block/script you can use in your project!
  • Control the pitch of SAMMY so you can make him sing songs!
  • More voices!
  • Adjust the amount of processing power the speech uses, reducing lag

And possibly these extra features, which will likely be in the full release:

  • Translation from English to phonetic writing
  • More realistic voices!
  • Make your voice into makecode!? (Far-fetched but it’s possible!)
