When is the next Unique-A-Thon? If i’m free then, I could participate for real this time
I’m thinking of doing a Unique-A-Thon every summer and winter.
So Unique-A-Thon II will be this May, and Unique-A-Thon III will be in December.
If your available between May-July, then you’ve got a spot for UAT2.
Actually, that would be ideal as all my competitions and important assigments end in April, so sign me up!
I’d totally be up for may-july! You might want to start making a seprate topic for that, because it seems you are getting a LOT of applicants!
@Unique
The competition is on May.
CODER KING 2 will still be happening on May
Hmmm. I don’t think I’ll be that busy then so count me in!
DISCLAIMER: if i really am busy I’m sorry but i will have to forfeit or turn in an unfinished project
IF I have time, than maybe I can participate in May.
Don’t worry bud, if I do somehow end up making it that far, then I can still manage.
And if you’re talking about the events overlapping, then you should be fine. Coder King 2 will be in the middle of the Grand Finale and UAT2 will just be getting started. Also, I don’t even have a finalized date for the start of UAT2 (although, I should probably get to that lol.)
At the moment, I have 2 applicants for Unique-A-Thon II. If you want to apply, then just visit this topic.
Until then, while you recover from the suspenseful ending to this competition, prepare for May to take a subway ticket to UAT2…
We haven’t seen the trophies yet, have we?
Yeah, I don’t know if I’m missing something, but I haven’t seen the trophies for the Mini Unique-A-Thon yet either.
What if the trophies were just a saying? lol
No, but I do have more of a showcase for them before the start of the next comp. I do realize that I said that they’d be coming soon but don’t worry I didn’t forget about 'em!
Still waiting
… how could you
…idk sarge got a point here…
It was purely from an objective perspective. I still like both competitions, but UAT simply has more “failsafes” to say so. @Unique was ready for all things to come. As a jam-maker he understood organisation is difficult, not just for him but also gathering people and keeping them in the event. UAT2 has callups which can replace contestants who drop out, keeping the jam afloat.
Not to mention the websites he made, the video for UAT2, the banners and graphics and the very detailed announcements he posts. The jam maintained interest and suspense the whole way through, and it’s looking like the sequel will too.
I don’t want to discourage you or make you feel bad either, as Coder king was a major keystone in the evolution of MakeCode community ran jams. I just feel some things set UAT apart from other jams as the one on the top. If you want, I can compile a full list of reasons and show you how to improve, but i digress
Oh no Mr. @Sarge you’re in for it now! (How did you find that?!)
@Taser, whether my competition is the best or not doesn’t really matter to me. But once again, I want to thank you. Because as @Sarge touched on, you are a crucial reason for the UAT’s existence as a whole.
Me being in the original Coder King taught me a lot about how to run a game jam. I took notes, found things that would make the UAT unique (pun very intended), and executed those ideas. Just keep building onto what you have, because its worked so well!
ha ha! yeah… about that…
