Wow! thanks so much!
Hey y’all!
Here’s a simple update, and don’t worry no big changes contestants.
-
TOTALLY not inspired by the Coder King competition, there will indeed be a trophy for the champion of the Unique-A-Thon.
-
There’s big things in the works for future competitions and the championship round, and I’m continuing to work hard towards making the Unique-A-Thon a great competition for any Makecoder to partake in.
If there’s any suggestions for the Unique-A-Thon or future projects, feel free to share in this topic."
I panicked- heard the title wrong and thought it said ‘Big changes in contestants!’ and instantly thought i was randomly disqualified or something hah. Hey, a trophy sounds epic, and its good to have such a dedicated host!
Thx! I really have some nice stuff planned for the champion. Hey you never know, that champ could be you.
GRIDSPARK!
The game is a relaxing visual and audio focused game. All actions have sounds, cute pastel and dull colors, and a simple plot! You fly around and upgrade a city electric grid. WASD To move, A to interact with buildings- there is an ingame tutorial for more.

@Sarge No Submission (Still Eligible)
For the two of you that haven’t yet submitted, you have until 5pm UTC tomorrow to post your game.
Best of luck !
I am sad to announce that, due to overwhelming amounts of work I have at the moment, I must resign my position in the competition. I wish the best of luck to the remaining contestants and I give the win to @randomuser. Good luck everyone!
Good for you, focusing on the important! I wish you good luck with all of your work!
@BryanBOfficial Are you available? I’m currently trying to put together a final matchup and I’m making sure you can still participate.
I’ll figure out a way to continue the Unique-A-Thon Championship. To help contestants balance the competition with their daily lives, they’ll each get up to 2 weeks to finish their games in the final round*.
*If all contestants fully complete their projects before the deadline, then development can end and voting can begin.
It was great to have you compete, wish you luck on your work Sarge.
Just noting now that I added the tutorial and fixed the game-breaking radio! I suggest anyone who played originally replays because it was practically unplayable before-
Lol, I suck at these sorts of games! I liked the fact that the guy kept running and I didnt have to hold forward or A like in mario kart or something. The lasers legitametly scared me because they jumpscare you if you are taking the middle of the road- I also loed the sassy narrator XD Great game!
Thanks @PixelDoodle @randomuser @BryanBOfficial for submitting your projects in time. I know it’s difficult to get these projects done in such a short amount of time, and I greatly appreciate your participation.
So, there will be a vote that eliminates one contestant. This is a spectator vote that will last 3 days (Friday, February 3rd). The remaining two will play in the championship. They may begin the same day voting results are finalized.
As I stated before, this round will last 2 weeks (14 days) and will end on the 17th (From Feb 3rd-17th).
I apologize for the changes, these are to make sure the competition is as fair and makes sense to the contestants. This is simply the best workaround regarding the dropout.
P.S. I rather do one big post then a bunch of replies lol.
Here’s the vote!
- randomuser’s “Gridspark”
- BryanBOfficial’s “electric runner”
- JavaDoodle’s “Zero Surge”
0 voters
Woo! I like this change, I don’t instantly win because of the dropout- We can get some competition in here!!
I’m in!
i Don’t think this round is accempting more applicants but I think they will be for unique a thon season 2 : D
I have to say that @PixelDoodle’s game is really fun to play, and @randomuser’s game has a really good vibe and art, so it was a tough choice. If you ask me, everyone wins here since we got some awesome games in this jam! I also wish the finalists (I suppose it’s Javadoodle and randomuser by the time this is approved) the best of luck, and may the best one prevail!
Any Chance this was based of of Factori?
What is Factori? I don’t remember it, although I might’ve stumbled upon it and subconsciously taken inspiration.
YEAHH!!! And thanks!!
