Tile map fog. (Help)

Hi. Does anyone know how I can make a tile map shade on blocks that are not visible to the sprite?

In my game goat miner, I created generated tunnels. But I don’t want you to be able to see past the walls in the tunnels. Kind of like a gray shade. But if you go close enough to it, a few blocks behind it is revealed. (this is to encourage 100 percent exploration and not to just run through a tunnel.)

I know what I am asking is kind of complex so I don’t want you to do it for me, I want to create it on my own, so I can be proud of it.

Here is the link to the project. https://arcade.makecode.com/S39410-96406-34150-44559 If you want to clarify, just ask. Thank you.

so you want something like the multilights extension

okay so for clarity when your saying map fog do you mean like limited view where you cant see what’s behind walls opposed to lantern effect?

No, not the lantern effect. Maybe I can explain it better… So like if you got a tile, I want the tile behind it, the one that the player technically couldn’t see, to be like gray or black. This is to replicate the lantern effect but with hidden tiles. Is that any better way to explain? I could create a drawing or something.

Thank you @Bifrosty! I might have more questions later though. I haven’t really looked at all of it.
