ITs a rager
Yeah… I should’ve failed XD
Also I didn’t like this theme took ages to come up with an idea
Lol my highscore is 3 XD
Fun!
Yeah I Had the same Problem (for some reason it to 2 day to think of an idea) ![]()
What if the next Theme was Time!
is it me or is the website saying that the semifinals hasn’t started yet
:
LOL I think Unique isn’t posting results because he is sick XD
Bro I could finish flying through time two then
Yikes, I feel like a real slacker right now
.
So I hear all the feedback regarding the theme, so I feel it’s about time I bring back theme voting. So everyone, feel free to suggest some themes. And I’ll make sure to add all the best ones to the poll.
Yeah but like when I finished my first game I had this big idea I wanted to try and then thought the theme had to be time or all themes
Here are some theme ideas, you don’t have to include all of them of course!
- Color
- Winter
- Birds
- Sugar
- Dream
Mine theme ideas most of them are settings though because I like ppl to get creative with the mechanics
Ocean
Western/outlaw
City

Today is the final submission day for the Conference Semi-Finals. In the case where the listed contestants haven’t finished their submissions, I recommend submitting a incomplete version of your game.
I won’t be able to submit my game because of bugs and it took ages to come up with a game idea.
I posted my game over the weekend already though
Oh LOL I thought last friday was the last XD
I’m not sure how to start this post. Partially because I’m not really good at conveying what I want to say in situations like this, and because I’m well, to say the least very dissapointed. In myself, that is. I’m guessing at least one person, whether that be a contestant or not, saw this coming from a mile away, and if not then this will come across as a blow to the face, but what has to be done has to be done
What I was refering to specifically is the fact I still haven’t posted a game. That’s because, well, I don’t have one. Yes, this is exactly what it looks like. You see, the first week of this stage in the jam, I still had school, and it was the last week, so as you can imagine it was pretty hectic.
I’m pretty sure I made a promise, a promise how I wouldn’t drop out this time. I usually consider myself a man of my word, but it very much looks like I’m wrong this time. I’m sorry to everyone, mainly @Unique for trashing another comp, and to the other contestants for eliminating a part of the fun from the jam.
Now, why am I doing this? Some of you would think, well "You had a whole week after school ended, so why didn’t you work then? Well, I did - but it’s not as straight forward as it looks:
The reasoning
- It’s the week after the end of school, but not just the school year, but the entire school for me. I was tackling high-school enrollment at the time, and I had a lot of things to consider given that I had an opportunity for a scholarship at a good school, so I had to dedicate some time to that
- To put it one way, my brain is whack, and I can’t really focus on something I can’t do well. I’m somewhat of a perfectionist, and if something’s not exactly how I want it, it’s not good enough for me. Which brings me to my next point:
- The theme - now, no offense, not even a complaint to Unique about the theme. A theme is a theme, and that’s how it is in game jams. Some themes work out well for you, others don’t. @randomuser handled this theme well, and I didn’t because it doesn’t really fit me, but perhaps it would have been different given another theme. I cycled through about 10 different game ideas and iterations, until now, when I gave up. I couldn’t nail this, and sometimes, things just don’t go your way
- My interest in other stuff, both makecode related, and unrelated - I really love branching out to new stuff, working on projects, community stuff, technical projects, coding, games, art and many different similar topics, but also my real life hobbies like swimming, and hanging out with friends. I just can’t allocate al this time in my day to other stuff, and leave enough time to develop a whole game to my liking
- Future plans - I have a competition coming ahead of me soon, the official game jam which I really care about is soon, I’m also going on vacation, and a lot of stuff is happening in my life, and on the forums which would interfere with this jam. I’ve decided it might be best for me to just drop out now, before this starts dragging down my performance in, let’s say the upcoming jam
- I just want to finally be free to do the things I wanted to do, not bound by a time limit (I suck with deadlines). During school, I was constantly on the edge of something - do this, do that with no time to catch a breath. Now, I know I’ve applied to this willingly, and I won’t deny that. It was my fault, and it’s my responsibility to know what I’m capable of going through and what I’m not, so I’ll try to make better judgements in the future
Now, this might look like a big “justification” of what I did, but it’s really not. I know it’s wrong, and I’m sorry for this, like I’ve said already.
With that said, i want to wish all the contestants (@randomuser, @PixelDoodle, @danger_kitty, @Maketendo and @Gideon_loves_cats - although it’s questionable whether he will continue since he didn’t submit either…?) all the best and a lot of luck in this. Please, be the ones to succeed where I couldn’t!
Additionally, even though I broke my own original promise, and you don’t have to take my word, I can at leas tell you that this will be worth it, since I’ll start posting my projects to the forums! (finally)
For now, this is what I’ve got on hold:
38 projects in the work of which there are:
- 13 extensions
- 5 games
- 2 secret
- 8 community-based
- 10 miscellaneous
Now, I don’t guarantee that I’ll release all of these shortly, as a matter of fact some of these might never see the light of day. But stay tuned regardless, and I hope this made you at least a little less angry at me for this ![]()
(sorry mods, and anyone who read this for the massive wall of text)
Oh, I’m so sorry. I forgot not to tag you in that post.
I see… you have USED scratch!
