So… First of all, this is all just my opinion, you do not have to share this opinion. The main reason I dislike “AI”, is that it is not artificial intelligence. It is just algorithms to spew random stuff out in a predictable but incredibly inefficient way. The energy usage is astronomical. Do you even know why tech companies are pushing for “Ai”, even if it is detrimental to the worth of their product? People somehow have this opinion, that if companies are not using it they aren’t relevant. The reason why all these tech billionaires pushed for this technology is not because they thought they could make money, it is because they had a bunch of leftover graphics cards from bitcoin mining. I do agree that image generators are kind of interesting to play with, but I think it is disgusting how the copyright laws have been applied to them. “I want to train my ai model” is not an excuse to pirate everything anybody has ever created. Laws need to apply to everyone, or not at all. Not to mention how bad at actually making art Ai is. I have seen too many people use LLMs to write their work for them, and I feel sorry for them. They will not get far in life by cheating at every turn.
Sorry for this rant, I know this topic is now over a week old and I am a little late to the party.
To summarise:
- Ai is literally random and huge energy wastage
- Not very useful to society as a whole
- Pushed because billionaires had spare graphics cards
- Aforementioned billionaires get to pirate everything in existence
- Allows people to cheat themselves out of a better life later

imo its not completely useless, we can use it for good too! but yes, many use AI completely wrongly and, what i think of is:
- AI is artificial, has NO ORIGINALITY WHATSOEVER, and thats annoying
- AI is just rearranging the Internet into a response, again, no originality
- AI isn’t self sufficient, it can’t learn itself, AI feeding on AI = gibberish!

I agree. That’s how you learn, by copying and seeing what works.
If you have an idea of a game but don’t know how to “say” that game idea in a code language, AI does help and can teach you a new language on the way. Just don’t ask it to generate ideas for you, because that’s your job!
