We want to know about something that you collect! Do you have all the Pokemon cards? Do you like to buy magnets every place you visit? Maybe you’re really into manga/anime figurines? Or you have an art collection!
There are so many things that someone can collect, and not all collections have to have a lot of things in them, either! If there are a set of things that are treasured to you, we want to hear about it.
Edit: Just wanted to note that not all collections need to be physical, either! If you have collections in virtual spaces/video games, we welcome you to share those, too!!
Okay, believe it or not, I really (as in, really) like Trivial Pursuit.
So much so that I now am combining these questions to create a mega game!
There are a few pretty cool versions, like Bet You Know It (with cool plastic “poker” chips), Book Lovers Edition (I play this one at school a lot because I almost always win since everyone else is so absorbed in social media), and even a Saturday Night Live version (LANDSHARK!). In case anyone is wondering, I do NOT buy them new! Instead, I go thrifting to find them. My least favorite version: Boomer Edition, it’s just too difficult for me.
P.S. I’ve been keeping score in my games at home of who’s winning:
ME: 3 times
MOM: 5 times (Happy Mother’s Day!)
I like one piece tcg cards. I like making pokemon trading card game top tier decks, and I play magic the gathering commander.
I even have made my own tcg called doodle
I like magnets, but not like fridge magnets. I like the neodymium magnets that will pinch your skin off if you mess up and get them too close. The ones that smash themselves into pieces if you let them snap together too fast. They are the absolute best fidget toys and I love doing the thing where you move one using another under a table. I had to get rid of most when my younger sibling was born cause baby eat magnet = very bad, but not that they’re older I have started up my collection again!
I don’t know if everyone would consider this a collection, but I like to say that I collect books. I have a bookshelf full of books that I purchased in the last two years (since I graduated college and now have income lol), probably around 100 books. Most of them I have not read yet, and some of them I will not read because I read it on my Kindle. There are some books, too, that I have plans on buying the physical copy even though I have already finished reading them on my Kindle. It’s a weird set of logic, but I love the thought of having a physical embodiment of all of the books that I have read in my lifetime. It’s possible I won’t be able to keep all of them simply because it would be too many books, but we shall see what the future holds in that regard.
I also have almost all of the Gyroids in Animal Crossing: New Horizons! Last I checked, there are 36 different gyroids in the game, and I have, I think, 31 or 32 of them and it brings me joy.
I love collecting quartz and gemstones. I have a giant chunk of amethyst an entire bucket of Cristal quartz. So yeah my dumb thing to collect that I think no one else collects.
I love rocks and gemstones so much. I don’t have a collection, unfortunately, but I have a hexagonal cut of amethyst I got when I visited Colorado and I fidget with it all the time when I’m working. It’s very soothing.
My first “collection” is all the microcontrollers / SBCs in my stash. I love collecting new and different microcontrollers to use for different projects. There is also a Raspberry Pi 4 running Octoprint and a (broken ) Raspberry Pi 3B not in the picture.
