Hello everyone! Sorry the weekly topic is a little later in the day than usual. To continue our cozy theme in honor of the Cozy Game Jam, we’re going to talk about the coziest time of day. And there is still plenty of time to participate in the Cozy Game Jam if you’re interested!! All of the details here: [Announcement] MakeCode Arcade COZY Game Jam! - Arcade - Microsoft MakeCode.
What do you think the coziest time of day is? Is it the morning when you get to hold on to the comfort of sleep a bit longer? Is it midday when the sun is most likely to be out and it gets warmer? Is it golden hour when the skies and your surroundings get coated with the last rays of sunlight? Maybe it’s the night when it’s darkest and you have the most time to wrap yourself up in a blanket? Or maybe it’s more nuanced like it’s coziest at twilight, dusk, or dawn? Let’s chat about it!
I’m definitely a sunset person. I really enjoy wrapping up in cozy clothes and taking walks at sunset to admire the sky. After the walk, I always just want to get something warm and read.
The dawn is definitely the coziest for me. I live in Utah, so at about 6-7 am, the sun starts to peep out behind the mountains. It makes the sky pink and orange and blue and it’s just a whole bunch of different colors. And the rays from the sun are super visible too, and it’s super pretty. And I usually take a look on the car ride to school, so maybe the thoughts and longing of being in a warm bed amplify the effect lol. (Phew, that’s the most I’ve ever typed that I wasn’t required to XD)
Night in a suburban town. It’s nothing but cars driving by, and there’s minor amounts of artificial light, with moonlight generally being the only illumination. Oh, and the hum of my old Windows XP computer (dated 2005) because it’s how I do things I can’t on my school iPad, but are still supported by Firefox (Internet Explorer 5/6 is not compatible with my Internet).
