WARNING LOOOOOONG POST! dont click off the blur unless your ready to read alot!
hey @TheConeGuy Is it okay if I use the base code for your game? (I’ll be using it for a completly different game) and I won’t use any of your concepts or any level designs or music or anything but the dash and the slam (Unless you want the worlds of our games to intersect)
DO NOT STEAL ANYONE!!!
The game is going to be called Diz and Skulley, it’s about an elf teen who goes to find the gauntlet of golg (essentialy the midas touch) before the evil Captain Dominski, an evil pirate who is trying to capture this tresure so he can turn islands to gold. Diz along with the help of his family members (run shops and such) and his skeleton friend skulley go through the many dangers of the Gogonda Islands (where the game is set) everything from slime monsters, to big bad pirates. there will (hopefully) be a total of 3 islands (Grass/tropical, water, sand and the great zepplaship(boss stage n’ thats it!)) with only 3 bosses and a mini boss!
Sorry if it took a while to read that but if you did you got a warning!
No, I’m still planning on collabing with you guys, but I’m going to be working on this WHILE working on that. (P.S. do you mind if i hide an easter egg about your game in mine?)
I wish I could include you as a secret character in my game as well, to say thanks for the support that you’ve provided…man that would be nice…that’s totally not gonna happen in the future, right?
So, it turns out that the image for bugger didnt load properly, which is a bit of a bummer. I recreated them the best i could in pixel studio, and it turned out pretty well. This is as close as i could get to what they were SUPPOSED to look like.
Yeah! You could put my charechter (Diz) his blue hat in your game! on like a tree or on like a peg in a castle or something…Or i could put a totakas song in your game! (a 19 note melody he hid in all the games he worked on.) i made my own and i could give it to you to put in your game somewhere! (:
The link has now been updated to show some new HUD graphics based off of ones from Pizza Tower’s SAGE 2019 demo.
Also, I’m just going to put all the questions that I’ve recently had while working on the core mechanics of the game.
How would it be possible to correctly incorporate the rest of Pizza Tower’s core moveset options (Grab, Wall Climb, Super Jump, and Taunt) into the game?
Is it possible to make the player break walls in the tilemap while dashing?
Can you make a timer using the text-sprite extension?
This is more of an opinion regarding the design of the HUD, but do you like the old design of the HUD better in Pizza Tower demos, or the newer one featured in the final game?
so for number 3 yes! kinda sorta…the clock ext. which youd have to mess around with for all that! But you could just use the info block and go to the countdown section and put where you want the countdown to be and how long you want it to be.
for number 2 you can, like make the tile a sprite and put a wall where it is, and when the player overlaps with the sprite it will turn off the wall and destroy the sprite, that may not be the most conventinal way to do this but it’s how I’m doing it.
Okay, you guys seemed to really like the final game’s HUD, so I put this mockup together with a few changes to reflect the theme of the game. What do you guys think of it?
BTW, the points have been changed to a small .EXE program, the combo meter has changed to a battery, and the TV is now….a computer that looks somewhat similar to a TV.
Alright, I’m re-asking a question I’ve already asked before, but how would it be possible to correctly incorporate the rest of Pizza Tower’s core move set options (Grab, Wall Climb, Super Jump, and Taunt) into the game? I don’t mean to rush anybody, I just REALLY need help with this, because it’s really important in the game.
