Why would you need an age rating for religious content? It’s an age rating, not a content descriptor

Well yes, but I know a few of people with religious trauma would like a descriptor!
(Although that’s a pretty niche content descriptor. If that was included, you would probably have other small descriptors like arachnaphobia or close-up eyes or something)
Oh yeah, that’s fair but disclaimers for content sometimes are necessary.
I think some people don’t like religious content in games, personally i don’t care, i just care if i can have fun in the game.

There’s a lot of content you may not like in games, this is supposed to be a content warning for disturbing content. Imagine if the ESBR or PEGI had labels for every little minor thing… it’s just a baseline

yeah that kinda makes sense, they could probably just put what may or may not be disturbing in their game or they can just say disturbing content, but imma b honest, this whole thing was a fail

I think violence and blood could be one category. I mean some people are scared of blood so maybe change the emoji.

Well, usually if theres blood, there had to be violence.

Well you could have punching and stuff which may not include blood but is definitely violent.
You could also have non violent blood (like an operation game or a blood transfusion scene?? idk)

Yes, but there could be violence in games without blood (eg. a fistfight where the characters don’t bleed)

Those descriptors affect the age rating though, whereas “religioin” wouldn’t really raise the age rating, just describe what’s in the game. I suppose you could make the case that the flashing lights descriptor should be removed then, I guess

Yes they affect it, but shouldn’t the age rating be able to depict what is in the game without this extra stuff? If they affect the rating, then you see it in the actual rating. As for the flashing lights, you’re completely right. The flashing lights should be added, but the topic of religion often is disturbing to people, much of the catholic and in general, those who are heathens. That is not to say every game that has religion must have that sign posted on it, but religion acting as a BIG part of this game would need one.
Maybe they become a separate catagory? Not offenses, just warnings

but maybe it could be (so that games with miinor amounts arent rated too harshly) could be like a number? like, 1 = literally like 2 or 3 times or something, 5 = lots? just an idea

to describe how violent it is. Regular would have your basic punches and kicks but still keeps the game for everyone. Violence plus could have blood or more dark death scenes.

Im very proud of the progress this thread has made,
i started it all the way back in april of 2023, not that long has passed when you think about it, but its still a prominent thread to this day and though I havent helped much in the progression of the thread, Its been fun watching everyone in the community, seasoned old timers and Newcomers, come together to make something to better the community

I second that religion should be a disclaimer. To some it may be just as important as flashing lights warning
