Hey folks!
It’s the first Monday of the month which means it’s time for a new mini game jam! This time around, we’re doing Train jam! You can use any meaning of the word “train” for this one. That’s right! This might be the only mini game jam where games about steam locomotives and bodybuilding are equally valid.
Some examples of good interpretations of this theme:
- A simulation game where you plan railways between cities to minimize shipping costs and travel times
- An RPG where you grind for experience to level up your characters
- A pet-raising game where you teach your darling capybara to do tricks!
- …and, of course, a mystery game that takes place on a train (movies/books teach us that trains are hotbeds of criminal activity)
You can interpret this however you want as long as it’s clear to the player how it relates to the theme.
Rules
- Games should be built in MakeCode Arcade
- Games should clearly adhere to the theme without the need for any extra explanation
- Keep the games PG: no NSFW, offensive, or excessively violent content.
- You must be at least 9 years old to participate.
- All games must be submitted by someone who is at least 13 years old. Younger students are welcome to participate, but it must be in partnership with an adult and with parent permission.
You have two weeks to enter! The jam will close at 11:59 PM PDT on Monday, December 18th 2023
