Be a Bird: Hawaii

This is my latest game!

The Hawai’ian Islands are known for their beautiful beaches and forests, but they have lots of awesome birds too, which aren’t often given enough attention. This game is supposed to be fun, yet informative of the plight of the Hawai’ian birds.

Bird mortality rate to mosquito-transmitted avian malaria in-game:

|Bird | Mortality to Avain Malaria in-game|
|
|I’iwi | 90% |
|Apapane | 40%|
|Amakihi | 25%|
|'Alauahio | 60%|
|Anianiau | 70%|
|'Akikiki | 80%|
|'Akeke’e | 80%|
|Kiwikiu | 80%|
|'Akohekohe | 80%|
|'Alawi | 65% |
|'Akiapola’au | 70%|
|'Akepa | 70%|
|Palila | 70%|

DISCLAIMER: The birds included in this game are only the native honeycreepers from the main eight Hawai’ian Islands. There are also thrushes, monarchs and other finches too, throughout all the islands.

If you want any extra information on Hawai’i’s native birds, I’m happy to help!

Just to clarify, the mortality rate for avian malaria in the game is the likelihood that you will die when bitten by a mosquito carrying avian malaria (and all mosquitoes in the game carry it).

this game is really interesting
the only things I would change are
sprites a little and add a little more to the gameplay loop

What do you think I should change about the sprites?

Yeah, I guess I could add a little to the landscape. Thanks for the suggestion, I’ll see what I can do!

It would be really cool if there was an urban area with obstacles and hazards. (like anti bird spikes, unhealthy food, other birds)

That could be interesting… I was trying to make the game more realistic though, and none of the Hawai’ian Honeycreepers live in urban areas. I’ll think about it.
