Sorry this is happening @ineedhelp! Please open this page to test connectivity to the essential MakeCode domains:

Reachable MakeCode domains

It will test each domain MakeCode needs to reach. Let us know if any of them don’t report success.

All of them reported success. I don’t think it’s a problem of blocking sites because 1: It worked before, one day I just opened it up and it just didn’t load. 2: My school uses Makecode in their curriculum so I don’t think they’d block anything that would prevent you from getting to Makecode. Maybe its because my Chromebook can’t handle it anymore? Maybe my Chromebook has too little storage space?

Oh and also, if someone else linked their game in a post and I click on it, I can play the game for some reason.

Thanks for checking that. Are you familiar with Chrome DevTools? It’s a tool built into the browser that lets you inspect things like network requests and console messages. If you’re comfortable with it, could you try the following?

  • Browse to Arcade
  • Open DevTools (press Ctrl+Shift+I or right-click anywhere on the page and select Inspect)
  • Reload Arcade while DevTools is open.
  • Check for any failed network requests under the Network tab or errors listed in the Console tab.

If you’d like, I’m happy to provide more detailed instructions or screenshots to guide you through this process.

My district disabled inspect because kids were editing their grades with it.

It is common for districts to disable Inspect. Can you try loading Arcade in an incognito tab?

Uh, they disabled that too :frowning:

Were you signed into Arcade previously, or using it without signing in?

I believe I was signed in with my google account. My google account is tied to the district so maybe the district disabled my account?

Dev tools are most likely also blocked, as they are for my own school computer. You said you can use Makecode on your phone, does that mean you can access your projects with an account? If so, I would try clearing cookies and stuff. (I may be wrong, but I believe that one time I cleared cookies and my projects disappeared when I wasn’t using an account, though I do not know if that is true/is still the case)

also..
I really hate to do this to a Makecode Team member..
but..

Can you try opening Arcade and signing in from a personal device, like a home PC?

It works on the other device and I can sign in and access my projects. So maybe its just a problem with my chromebook?

Um, I got in via a different link, it looks a bit different than I remember… Also, it says beta in the corner and when I’m in a project, the banner at the top is red. I could have sworn it was orange before. Did I somehow get into a different version of Makecode? Besides the formatting, everything seems to work the same. (Keyword: Might. I haven’t really done any new projects yet.)

Could you maybe send a picture that includes the new URL?

Try just removing the word “beta” from what you’re looking at and see if that helps…

um, after some more investigating I’m pretty sure its a past version of makecode because the sprite drawer is way downgraded, you can’t change the size of the sprites, there are just set sprite sizes.

Yes, that’s a verrrrry old version. Try changing 0.3.33 to 1.12.57 and see what happens

I changed the link and it still is stuck on the loading screen, however, it said at the bottom of the screen while loading “Signed in with **********” and then sometime later, it said “Update download complete”
