Hoplings™

I love it! i would recommend a tutorial section and maybe NPCs (that is optional) But i would love if you gave him new abilities based on some item or tool he gets! I’m really excited for this but take your time with it!

new cinderslime color palette! what’s the verdict on this one, better or worse?

He looks awesome! Much more evil than the old blue slime, but I must admit the original blue slime was much cuter.
Will we keep the blue slime as another enemy too tho?

BOYS.

i have a problem with my game… but it’s not what you might expect.

the movement system has been fine-tuned to perfection, and all the sound bugs have been fixed, but the problem is… it’s actually too good. see, i keep logging onto makecode arcade to implement some features, make levels and fix bugs, but i have so much fun just running around as ryan that i forget to do any actual work. have you guys ever had that problem, where your project is stuck in development heaven?

I mean I guess so sliding around in the game I’m making is real fun but I’m still able to work on stuff… What a strange phenomenon, development heaven. I just hope you are not stuck in an endless cycle of opening project → playing for 2 hours → leaving project.

Yeah @Existent_Chicken and I are currently working on a platformer engine with ground pound, running, dives, and slopes and we keep ending up messing with the sprint button all the time

Woah, usually i dont make games good enough to run into that. I can only imagine the joy of messing around in a platformer with fun controls.

One suggestion: either put yellow in the middle or change brown to red, red to orange, and orange to yellow. Either would make it look more fiery.

Here’s what I would do: temporarily remove the main movement controls so you can focus, then when it’s time to test put the code back in. Not a very appealing idea but still it could work idk

2 Solutions, if you want that.

Possibly put a title screen in front of gameplay? Maybe you already have it, but just a few clicks of a barrier can go a long way.

The other solution is to get good and minimize the simulator while you code, (with the arrow just past the blocks) and then lock in and code the new thing. Now you have earned playing your own game and you get to test out the new thing while having fun!

I’ve never had that 100%, but there are times where I waist my time playing the game instead of coding it. (looking at you, heist jam!!!)

If it’s too good, you should release it to the public.

i think i’ve finally reached a verdict for how i want ryan to look, it’s a happy medium between the old tiny ryan and the more chunky designs
