New game console for makecode

Hey @richard or anybody, could you help me make a game console for MakeCode?
My console is called Arcadia Go. It’s powered by a Raspberry Pi Pico W. It’s 7" wide by 4" tall, it can store up to 20 games on it, and you can push on sensors. Could you help me make it work with MakeCode?

im making something similar check out How to Run a Game on a Raspberry pi 5 SD Card Directly!

and Can I sell my game this way

and I’m working on a python package that you can import with all the stuff to run it on the sd card

Thanks, that helps. This is what the Arcadia Go looks like:

That’s the back; the pin header in the middle is where the Raspberry Pi Pico goes.

That’s the front; the pin header below the D-pad is sensor ports for plugging in Adafruit sensors.

Now @richard just needs to help me with whether it has the stuff needed.

cool! @GoObErsandwichdude64, what do you think?

@GoObErsandwichdude64 i’m afraid i’m more of a software guy than a hardware guy, so i’m not sure i’ll be much help.

that being said, we do have some documentation on creating arcade hardware here which i encourage you to check out!

When Arcadia Go is done, I’ll send you one; the box will be covered in monkeys holding bananas.

I’d encourage you to check out some PCB design tutorials and search up some best practices so that you don’t have to pay money and then realize that the design doesn’t work / or not as optimally. The things that stood out to me are that the Pico’s CAD model is misalligned, there is no ground pour / you’re removing large areas of copper for no reason, and that you have 90 degree bends which is not important at this speed and with modern etching processes but it’s still frowned upon

my not yet done website https://sites.google.com/view/bananapi/arcadia-go

you can also try PCBWay send them a board and they will send it back to you built

really cool also the python package is done (check out game on sd card topic again) also Its really cool to see you have your own website

thanks!

I would say if it does not work just follow the steps on the topic and just let me know what went wrong
