I’m making a RPG game right now and I was wondering if anyone has an RPG that they and I was wondering if I could get good ideas or examples for the perfect RPG game
Diablo - full stop. Oh and inspiration from Gauntlet (think the arcade/NES version)
I’m creating something similar and using it as inspiration and a teaching tool. The power of random is a great way to create a game that’s infinitely replayable and doesn’t take TOO much work (imagine a random level vs hand crafted… which one is faster to create a new level?).
Simple top-down, swing to attack. But random tile maps! Random enemies! And most of all, random placement of treasure chests that spew out random items with stat increases (speed, damage, health, etc).
Add a story line + multiplayer and you have a recipe for amazing!
There’s a reason there’s a gob of Diablo clones out there.
Good luck and have fun!
Have enemies drop from the sky, use shadows to create a 3D effect.
rpg hard to make. if gonn make, go gammaker like @Danny_Devention
Yes, what the dairy product says is true, unless its fairly short and not that in depth, making a complete RPG game on Makecode is extremely difficult, if not impossible.
guess i’m going to have to make an RPG now to disprove this
i’ll add it to the list
I was more referring to Undertale Style, if you want a challenge try to make something like that. The thing about traditional style is in gameplay there’s a lot of variations for tiny things and a whole lot of grinding diffrent enemies. That’s why I said that. RPGs in general have usually taken up a lot of memory to store everything. (Unless you use fancy asset shenanigans)
To an average coder it would be nearly impossible, to you you’ll probably figure it out because your Richard.
While your at it you could finally make that RPG skillmap we’ve been waiting for since the beginning of time! Maybe? ..please…
I find RPG games are quite hard to code on makecode! I’ve tried to make several of them, but they all either end up being too big, or too buggy, (or both.) If you could make a working RPG game, that would be incredible and your perseverance would show for that! (Especially if it’s one that is as big as all my unfinished and mostly abandoned ones are.
Good luck!
Look at your own risk...
Also I caught you @richard
