Hi, I’m also working on a roguelike dungeon crawler! It’s a bit more complicated but very far from being finished. I’m very interested in how you will implement fighting

Still thinking Abt it

New Update:

New Features:

  • You can fight enemies but they can fight back… Combat is heavily (heavily as in practically copied, don’t tell the Nintendo Ninjas) inspired by the combat from the NES version of The Legend Of Zelda.
  • There are many (3) types of enemies with different class types (also 3) that have different amounts of health.
  • Chests give you gold now. (Spoiler:its useless… )
  • Sound effects

Old Features:

  • Maps still suck
  • Shopkeeper is still useless
  • Same, great music
  • Full of bugs
  • And last but not least, my code is so messy that it’s a regional dish in Italy. (Block supremacy)

Developers Note:

Please respond and upvote this topic. I worked super duper hard on it and we need the MakeCode Forum algorithm to get this project to more people. Report any bugs or ideas here. I could make you an enemy or potentially an item when the shop starts working. cough cough

Cool! I’ve noticed a little bug. For some reason, when you walk left, then diagonally up-left and then try to walk left again, you can’t.

Actually that’s not really a bug, just an unwanted feature. To disable diagonal movement, I made it so that if you are pressing up or down, it sets movement speed to vx 0 vy 32. If you are holding the up button, the game registers it as the left button is not available, even if you release it. To solve it, after you release the up button, promptly press the left button. The same goes for the other buttons. I hoped this helped.

You could make the player go faster him being slow makes the game harder

I could make it an item. You have any recommendations?

Yea you could do that he just feels very slow

How do you upvote the topic and the forums doesn’t have an algorithm like YouTube it just shows the newest updated topic with the most recent reply

Ooh those attacks were sword beams like from Zelda I get it now

This game is coded a lot like the original Zelda game both figuratively and literally.

It’s been 3 days (at the time of posting this)!

New Features:

  • Slime boss who is actually pretty challenging.
  • The game is pretty hard I should probably nerf enemies or change the game a bit.
  • There are many more (3+1) new types of enemies with different class types (now 4) that have different amounts of health.
  • Along with chests, enemies drop varying amounts of gold. (Spoiler:its useful… )
  • The shops finally sell things (literally 1 thing) that you can spend your hard earned cash on!

Old Features:

  • Maps still suck (but less)
  • The map still has boxes
  • Original enemies
  • The combat is still on the line of copyright infringement and creative commons.
  • Shopkeeper is still useless (not)
  • Same, great music
  • Full of bugs
  • And last but not least, my code is so messy that it’s a regional dish in Italy. (Block supremacy)

idk why it still says 0.1.1 I swear I changed it to 0.2.0

Its really good!! Taking inspiration for my game…

I noticed that when theres a block abouve a chest, it somehow turns into a chest?? Also the chests say they five you like 150 something but they dont hive you anything

Yeah the chest glitch is very very very annoying. 15D$ means Dungeon Dollars which is currency for the shop shown through Makecode’s native point system.
