can somebody please help me with the shading? I’ve never shaded before, and that was the best I could do.

Ooooh. That’s nice.

The shading is pretty good but by how the highlight on the top slants, it looks as though the shadow on the left should be longer.

i made it more satisfying with sound effects and particles

i usually just shade each “plane” differently. That means a distinct colour for each face of the object. For cylinders and spheres, its better to gradient to imply the curved edge (which you did pretty well!) If you want to add a highlight, its good to do that on the edge between the circle plane and the curved plane for cylinders.

Uhh, gonna be honest, it looks worse. Why would a red cylinder’s shadow have that weird green border? Also, didn’t I literally reshade it for you? And shading should reflect a surface’s geometry, so the flat surface the button’s on wouldn’t have that gradient
