20 of makecode’s finest users will compete in 25 challenges. Each challenge (each month), the users are to create a game from scratch based on a specific theme given to them. every challenge will end in elimination.
So, what’s different from most game jams is that there are rejoins, you guys can vote on every elim and debuts.
debuts are like UAT2 applicant reserves.
type I WANT in the comments if you want to join.
bfdi reference (I want)
also if there are 25 challenges will there be rejoins? or are there debuts or challenges for advantages?
…
NO. WAY.
BFDI BUT WITH MAKECODE USERS??? (sentence)
some of these words seem similar to Coder King…
If there’s 25 challenges and 1 challenge per month that’s over 2 years. By then I likely won’t be using makecode at all.
Why the pessimism? I can see myself using MakeCode well into the future, years into the future even, at least surface level browsing if anything at all. But using in none the less
I wasn’t trying to be rude, I just think 2 years is kind of a big time commitment for a game jam.
Hey! Love the plan of what your hosting. But I’m speaking from experience when I say please try to keep the competition squeezed into a timely manner. This, from what I’m looking at is expected to be a 2+ year competition, which is in my opinion a bit daunting to potential participants. So try getting that down to maybe 2-6 months of challenges.
But other then that, I can’t wait to see how this goes!
i don’t know how to use scratch
please give me a moment while i learn how to use scratch.
anyways, why the tournament must be done in scratch and not in makecode???
this forum isnt made for scratch. its made for makecode arcade. and it’s made for people who knows the program and is advanced on it.
edit: whoops i didnt realise that you arent a newbie sorry.
“making something from scratch” just means making a game from nothing (no template)
It is a MakeCode forum, after all
Oh dw, I didn’t see it as rude! I’m just motivating people to stay here as long as possible, there’s so much to do!
holy moly real!
No, he means make a game from the ground up. You’re still using makecode.
from scratch means coding without a template, sort of…
They mean make a game without any previous code not make it in scratch.
thank you all !!!
