Notice, the tile is more in place then the sprite
I would love for there to somehow be a way to have/link private chats on the forums but still have it be safe. I dunno how youād figure it out but Microsoft is like a billion dollar corperation so thereās probably some way to do itā¦
wait the teams budget might not be over like a 800,000 so maybe not and as far as I know I donāt think that makecode is that profitableā¦.dag nabbit my idea is nearly impossible
makecode arcade is LITERALLY made to look like retro style games so this wonāt be happening any time soon
yeah, if you want that, try scratch. They have some nice drawing tools in there.
I also agree but instead of Midi files how about MP3s?
I think its budget is around 250000000 USD
My friend not all retro games used Pixel art. Have you heard of the Vectrex by chance?
The Vectrex rendered images by drawing variations of dots, & sharp and smooth lines, even though it flopped it was groundbreaking for its time.
There was also an 80s arcade game called āDragons Lairā that didnāt use pixel art or lines. It was pre-rendered (hand drawen) to look like one of those old Disney movies!!
This is real btw, they used something called a laserdisc to store the images.
Personally, I do think there should be an option to make games that arenāt pixel art, it would just need to be in a diffrent mode or something, like: ācreate new project, would you like this game to be pixel art, or use pngsā or something along those lines
well you know what i meant
Why do people ask this all the time? It is not like it is currently because the mods want it to be, it is because makecode is not powerful enough. Try making the screen size bigger; you will see what I mean.
Iām saying they possibly could make a custom variant of the engine thatās functionally the same but just with bigger pictures, thats what I meant. Iām aware that base makecode is no were near powerful enough
people have asked for that already and the answer is NO
I think its because of the way the hardware makes the music, but it would also probably because the makecode team would have to completely recode the music
Iām wondering if there is a way to create custom instruments for the song editor, either the devs making a new block or creating a typescript file, @richard is that possible?
Ahhh, Ya I Get That Now. They Could Make A Second Revision Of The Hardware Like The Micro:Bit Did. (Better Music, More Colours, etc.)
Just general optimization features. Like a bigger color pallete, (probably extremely difficult or impossible) preloading extensions so that I donāt have to manually do it all again on the next project, or just bug fixes.
