An Exploring Post is looking at using EV3 bots and sensors for introduction to automotive sensors

Has anyone used Mindspring EV3 sensors to introduce their function as automotive tech equivalents? An Exploring Post is meeting at a Tech College and has an interest in doing this. Any links or references appreciated.
