Bloons Tower Defense v2

Remember this?

I’ve decided to come back to this (quite amazing) game concept and redesign it from the ground up!

Currently, you only have your dart monkeys, tack shooters, and sniper monkeys. But now there are 8 different levels of Bloons, each requiring a different number of hits pop it. Place a tower down by pressing B on something other than a tower, and use the arrow keys and A to navigate the menu. Press B while hovering your cursor (it will turn blue if your cursor point is touching a tower because this game has Precision Cursor Pointing Technology™) over a tower to sell it or access its upgrades.

The dart monkeys will try to shoot the farthest Bloon in their range. The tack shooters will shoot tacks around in a circle when a Bloon comes in range. The sniper monkeys have unlimited range and will try to shoot the strongest Bloon, but if it’s moving fast, it might miss. (Currently. I have plans to redo the sniper.)

Please tell me if you find any bugs or how many waves you can survive! Note: I highly recommend playing this game on a high-end device with a keyboard. You need to take advantage of the Precision Cursor Pointing Technology™ and you can’t do that on a phone! (Well, I can’t do that on a phone. Someone else probably could do it…)

Oh, and watch out for wave 5. Something quite…interesting happens…:smirk:

Finally got around to making a map selector :smiley:

Changes:

  • Completely redid snipers. Snipers without upgrades do 2 damage to a Bloon.
  • Get up to $100 at the end of each round!
  • Added a map selector! Use the arrow keys to choose a map and A to select it!
  • Added two new maps, called the Field of Flowers and Eerie Swamp. (I can never spell “eerie” correctly)

Also the money values are broken. Won’t decrease.

I’ll fix it in the next release. (This was bound to happen at some point)

Great execution! I like the way you setup the menu for adding new/upgrading existing defenders. Tower defense is probably one of the better formats to explore with makecode.

YAY UPDATE!!!

Changes:

  • Added 3 maps: Sand Castle, The Dark Dungeon, and Figure Eights (and Zeros). (Sand Castle is my favorite)
  • Added a third option for upgrading your towers!
  • Changed the Bloon spawning algorithm slightly. Watch out when you reach a wave that is a multiple of 3.:wink:

Changes:

  • New tower called the monkey buccaneer, which can only be placed on the water! :monkey::sailboat:
  • Two new maps, called “Under the Sea” and “Bloon’s Forest.” (I’m horrible at naming stuff) :ocean::evergreen_tree:
  • Added a new “Random” option to randomly select a map in the map selector!
  • AND I FINALLY REMEMBERED TO TURN OFF DEBUG MODE!!! :partying_face: (Dang, it’s actually pretty hard without infinite money :thinking:)

Wow I can’t believe I hadn’t broken something yet!

Changes:

  • Removed auto-start - hold A and tap B to start the round. :ab:
  • Shadows! :balloon:
  • Automatically turn off shadows and particles when the FPS plummets.
  • Music! :notes::musical_note:
