1 - huh, i’ve never encountered that bug before.
2 - i cant control the impact blocks, i just write code for them to be destroyed if the bottom collider sprite hits them.
the new demo is out! PLAY IT.
Good job! I hide slices of cheese in places that are either not meant to be reached normally, or too hidden for me to put a page in. Places that require the player to cheese the level to get somewhere they shouldn’t be.
sooo… i updated the blastbot enemy’s design and function… (those are not teeth, they’re springs i promise)
now instead of bouncing on its head and THEN sprinting into it to kill it, you just cant kill it anymore. now, it acts as a mobile spring, jumping over 1 tile high walls and turning around anywhere else. bouncing on its head acts the exact same way as bouncing on a spring, but it stuns it and keeps it in place for more coordination.
YOOOO lT’S COMIN’ BACK
lTS MY CAKE DAY BAYBEEEE
Happy cake day dude!
Yay he looks really cool I like that he’s un killable
it’s more enemies time!
meet the raskull, a mischievous little bone fella! he walks back and forth like every other enemy, but when you stomp on his head, he falls apart and gets stunned for a few seconds before reassembling and getting right back up! that’s right, nothing can keep this little guy down for long!
dry bones
correct, that’s what this is based off of
hoplings has officially gotten its second popular link award!
hey @InvalidProject, could you maybe make some title and level music for me? i would really appreciate that, you’ll get your name on the title screen if you decide to do it
here’s a fun fact! i actually learned some of my pixel art from studying how super mario world’s artstyle works, and added a darker outline and a pitch black outline as well. then i add a bit of candy shading, and i’ve got my artstyle!
I don’t know what to say about the overwhelming support you guys have been giving me, I can’t thank you enough. All I can really say is that you guys are really…
Nice.
BE PREPARED FOR A MASSIVE UPDATE!
that’s right, a new update to hoplings is coming very, very soon! don’t worry, i promise i’m not gonna whiff it again by making the whole thing turn itself inside out from being too big. count on it, and stay tuned!
I hate those
here’s a little level i threw together showcasing the new switch tiles that are gonna be in the next update!
here’s some of the blocks.
SECTION 1 - SWITCH BLOCKS
switch blocks are blocks with arrows on them. they can be red or blue. ground pound them or hit them from below, and red blocks will turn blue, or the other way around.
SECTION 1A - SWITCH ORBS
switch orbs work the same way as switch blocks, but they need to be interacted with like pulse orbs as opposed to hitting them from below or above.
SECTION 2 - COLORED BLOCKS
colored blocks are red and blue blocks with cute faces on them. when the switch blocks are blue, only the blue colored blocks will be solid, and the red ones will turn into a transparent outline that cannot be stood on or interacted with in any way.
SECTION 2A - COLORED PLATFORMS
colored platforms are also red and blue, they also have cute faces, and work the same way as colored blocks, except they can be passed through from underneath like a semisolid platform.
enjoy!
