Sprite Stars (a competition)

This is absolutely amazing. The art is stunning, I especially love the CRT effect on the player and checkpoints. The portals and moving platforms are both really well implemented.

I also admire the slight dramaticism of the music starting only after you leave the starting room. Truly the type of thing that I absolutely love.

Though I am on my phone right now and only played through the first few rooms, I fully intend to play more later when I have the time.

Great game. (Though a little hard for my taste)

I’m probably not going to finish my game in time, but that’s partially because it takes me forever to make anything.

Announcement!

This is your last warning for the qualifiers:

You now have less than 2 days remaining.

This is the intended way to play.

That was intended as a joke but there’s more

After making the basic unit movement, I added random variation to the pace the units went do they didn’t all pile up, but when you had a ton of units, they formed a solid square.

When I saw this, I immediately thought of the Borg from Star Trek. It definitely helped that I made the art green. If you don’t know the Borg are a race of humanoid aliens that add cybernetic implants to themselves and work as a hivemind. This obviously inspired the lore A LOT.

But also, seeing this swarm move as a unit and annihilate a star was really cool, and inspired a lot of the design of what things are cheaper and such. It is also why I decided not to add other unit types. If you look in the code, they are fully implemented, but having a reason not to buy more basic ones cut away the sheer glee of seeing a swarm shoot a billion lasers at a thing.

oh, well I never intended for the player to be good enough to only die once, so uhhh… ignore that. I was too lazy to make it change for that one situation.

Now at least 5

Never Code Again- /jk

Can’t seem to get past Stage 3 for the life of me.

Okay, last minute submission here: Luna! (The game not the character)

I didn’t really think of a story for this game in time, but this is a character i’ve had for a while.

Play as Luna in 3 short levels and try to beat them as fast as you can. Grapple around pillars or semi-solids to get around.

Luna (the character not the game)

mario the idea vs mario the man ahhh
Here’s an unfinished sketch for her design that i couldve sworn i had remembered to finish

Luna is the only daughter of the moon goddess and currently waiting until she’s old enough to start her duty or something. Any comic or game or animation or however i eventually tell this story would be about whatever nonsense she gets up to to pass some time.

also scriptscraper you COOKED bro

Insane computer

Add a minion unit for lazer spam

Here’s my submission! @CopySprite

Really simple: shoot the aliens.

And for info:

Lore

You are a recruit for the STAR Galactic Defender Corporation. You role is to shoot the space baddies coming to invade Earth. With the support of the corporation, what can go wrong?

Controls and Enemies

A to shoot, joystick to move around. The round aliens (Bubliens) are worth 5 XP. The ones with the skull heads (Parabubbles) are worth 10. Overlap the healers (boxes with plus signs) to gain extra health. You can also view XP collected and enemies killed in your lifetime. To reset, go to the menu and find reset (this will also bring back the dialogue scene.

And that’s all for now! Hope you enjoy the game!

i had to change the physics a little bit because the timing was too perfect on the up part.. so i only half did it : /

Hey everyone! Just finished my game!
This game is a short story based game where I tried my bestest to make a good story.
Controls:
A and D to move left and right (wow), W and S to move between options, and A for literally everything else (Jumping, interacting, dialogue skipping).
Kablam kablow, play this now!

Endings

There are 2 endings to this game!

Ending 1: Basic Ending
The most basic ending, it’s pretty easy to finish.

Ending 2: True Ending
This ending can only be found after you’ve done the Basic Ending.
I’ll only give a hint on how to get to it:

After talking with the Guard, go left and find the crack in your house and stand over it.
(Can only happen once you’ve beaten the game once before.)

After this it shouldn’t be too hard to complete the ending.
Also, sometimes the title screen will appear in this ending. The secret ending only truly finishes when something says “We’ll see how this goes.”

If there are any glitches, please report them to me!
Enyoy :man_mage:

It seems like everyone has made a game but I’ll still wait until the end of the 26th make sure everything is submitted.

Before then, @TheEarth can you choose the games that you’ll judge now?

I thought about making a roguelike and didn’t plan it very well. But hey, who needs a title screen anyway?

As I said before, I’ve reworked or just restarted my game quite a few times, so I don’t have much. But what I do have is this:

It’s literally just my crate challenge game, but with levels, less gravity, and actually being possible (I hope).

This is such a cool theme! Unfortunately, your project is currently suffering from success . When projects get popular, we go ahead and pre-complie the JS to reduce load times on the share page. This currently removes the simulator theme, but we are working on getting a fix for this out soon! For the time being, you’ll have to make a new share link if you see your simulator theme not loading.

I want scriptsceaper seals runes swirlixs and after that you can assign me the ones you don’t want to do

Space 8 ball pool  Click and hold/drag to shoot!
(PLEASE treat this as a rushed minigame, because that’s what it is-- took about 2 hours all on public transit  )

This is so cool man, I just really wish I could get out of my lazy, boring rectangle status bar ui and make something cool or fancy for once…
