The forum is dying, why?

I originally joined just to post and play games but then I kinda fell into the social media side of the forums

I have come up with a way to help people limit their unneeded topics or posts.

for example, I have 356 posts and I have created 23 topics so I divide 356 by 23 to get about 15.5. So my post/topic ratio is 15.5. your post/topic ratio doesn’t really say anything about someone, so you can just ignore this

I have 356 posts and I have shared 76 makecode arcade links, so my post/project ratio is around 4.7. Try to keep this number low, try not to get it above 12. Of course, this still doesn’t say anything about someone because people like @randomuser like to leave nice, encouraging comments.

I have created 23 topics and have shared 76 makecode arcade links, so my topic/project ratio is around 0.3. try to keep this as low as possible in order to not clutter up the forum. you can still ask for help though or make a blog post, just don’t make a topic for random unnecessary things.

after you have calculated all of those things, make a chart similar to how I did below

Brohann
PTR: 15.5
PPR: 4.7
TPR: 0.3

I agree 100%. But what I will say, is Scratch is so much more stable and polished the MakeCode (in terms of the client for each platform.)

I guess to honestly way in on this, these forums don’t really have an initiative to use it anymore (to me personally.) It just lacks that charm that it once had.

Like personally, I don’t feel much reason to stay active much longer. I am not coming on here to see “Should I comment more?” on the blog section. The forums have lost it’s focus, like MakeCodes subreddit has more productive discussion then the forums.

Look I don’t like to rant, just do what Sarge said. You can be off-topic every-so-often, but try to be constructive, please.

Awesome, I love stats! Seems like a great ratio you have!

That’s true and false for example scratch has a stamp block but makecode has a block that allows you to change the size of a sprite with the x and y serpenty.

Where do you find these stats?

That’s definitely true

you can find your amount of posts and topics on your profile summary, and to find how many makecode arcade links you have shared, search arcade.makecode.com and filter it to only posts from you, and then it should say how many results there are somehwere
