I created a project and saved it. I clicked on github icon and created a repository. I don’t see how to add any files and commit them though. I’m in blocks mode. The github button just brings back the create repository window. In github, the repos are empty.
OK, I went to another computer. When it wasn’t working, I was logged into GitHub with a new account I created for this. On the other computer, where I was logged into Github with my main account (on which I pay monthly I think) it created the repo in my main account and committed changes to it. Does makecode integration with GitHub not work for free GitHub accounts?
I think it was just luck of the draw. I’ve been having this issue, too. Any chance you were trying to make an image pack?
Could you please chime in here with a reproduction of this bug if it resembles what you experienced, @john.holland.teals? It seems intermittent:
Hi, I just tested this again. I have various github accounts. When I’m signed in to github with my non-paid account, the create-repo dialog appears and the repo is created but it’s empty. I check this by switching tabs in Edge between MakeCode and GitHub. In MakeCode, I just keep getting the create repo dialog.
When I’m signed in to github with my paid account, the create repo dialog appears, and then when I proceed, it took a minute and created a new repo WITH ALL THE FILES. Then clicking on github shows me the repo with my commit listed.
