Yes! I wonder where we will store the official list… maybe a website or a google doc?
I could make one tomorrow!
great idea
Nice!
What about a simple age rating too, beside these badges we could also implement something like @Nerdiest originally imagined.
Actually adding an age label. We could also do it with emoji badges like we did with categorizing the sensitive content. For example:
- suitable for all ages (no violations)
- 13+ (minor violations, slightly sensitive)
- 15+ (multiple violation, highly sensitive)
So, an example in a real post would be something like:
< Insert text here >
Here’s my game: https://makecode.com/xxxxxxxxx
Age rating:13+ (
![]()
)
What do you guys think?
Sorry I was AFK for so long, I had a thing but thanks @MakeCode and thanks to @Sarge @randomuser @Blobbey @BoostedGames and anyone else who participated! thanks for helping my vision to become a reality but as sarge said:
we gotta spread the word and use this system ourselves! Thanks a huuuuuuuuge bunch dudes!
Yes! thats perfect! And if the community ever fully adopts the idea, then you could just put ’
’ as a shortened form.
Perhaps putting it at the top of the post?
Something like:
Rating:
![]()
![]()
< rest of post goes here >
I created the Google Document! Here the categories are documented and contextualized, and in the future you can expect the addition of age ratings.
Oh yeah, also a small suggestion, could you add the color emojis that represent age ratings in the doc?
I would just like to say that I was the one who flagged your post, @Sarge (in the MIDI extension topic) because (even though it was not actually meant in a mean way) I found it a little harsh for my liking. I also want to point out that,
is not exactly a mild word (in my opinion at least, and certainly in many other people’s opinions as well). Additionally, I wouldn’t call it petty to use the profanity warning for games containing the word
since some people may be alarmed and/or offended is they see the word in a game, and the entire idea of the disclaimer system is to warn people of content that they may not want to see.
This is of course not to say that I don’t regard you as a talented and valuable member of the community, I just simply don’t agree with you on this topic.
very nice! also I made a game (which is on the forums) that used the age rating system
I can see that! A lot of the time words like those are a lot harsher when people are younger, and in different places or cultures where they have more extreme meaning.
What about like Alcohol ?
I agree. in my opinion that’s not a mild word and i consider it a profanity
I like it! But hypothetically, would something such as the middle finger be considered as 13+ or profanity in the earlier list?
I don’t think that’s allowed anyway @labfox29
I’ve got a suggestion @Sarge !
- eyestrain! I saw this in some post, who had to use flashing lights to represent eyestrain. Eyestrain can be bright colors, extremely detailed images, or just anything that might hurt your eyes to look at!
It would (at least to me) be like 13+ or profanity (due to creators own beliefs) but what do you think randomuser?
well, yah of course. it’s still profanity.
